While the racing industry continues to rake in gambling money on the back of horse cruelty, the incredible people from these horse rescue sanctuaries choose to ‘place their bets’ on compassion instead.

The horse racing industry rakes in billions of dollars on the back of horses that are routinely whipped, injured, and slaughtered when they’re not ‘profitable’ anymore. A recent exposé revealed the brutality that young and healthy horses face when they’re discarded by the racing industry — and public outrage has led to many people declaring they will no longer bet on or attend a horse race.

If you’re one of the caring people who wants to celebrate compassion — not cruelty — to horses, thankfully there are many groups in Australia actively working to create a world in which horses are treated with compassion, and loved not for what they can win, but for who they are
