Globally, more than 70 billion animals are killed for food each year – and this figure doesn’t include fish and other sea creatures. The vast majority of these animals will have been factory farmed – denied legal protection, quality of life and subjected to cruel surgical procedures without pain relief.

Leading experts are telling us that to change the world for animals we need to change the way we eat.

Farming animals for food is the biggest driver of biodiversity loss and species extinction worldwide.

Embracing plant-based diets would free up 76% of global farmland, rejuvenate habitats and eco-systems, replenish oceans and waterways and restore the balance between humans, animals and the natural world.

Through our food advocacy initiative, VegKit, Animals Australia seeks to inspire people to explore a new way of living and eating.

A way of living that will protect our precious planet and all the species we share her with – paving the pathway to a kinder, healthier, more sustainable future.
