Animals Australia is proud to support the expansion of the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife’s (FNPW) grant scheme to extend from New South Wales to now be accessible to wildlife carers in other states, soon to be nation-wide.

The ‘Wildlife Heroes’ grant system is now open to any registered wildlife volunteer in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. The current focus of the grant system is to get funds to carers in bushfire-affected areas, however this will extend to other areas for all needs in future.

For registered carers and volunteers who are not confident applying online, or who may not have internet access, the FNPW have staff ready to help over the phone. Their priority now is solely to get funds where they are most urgently needed. So if you are a carer needing assistance with your work to help bushfire victims, please apply here:

And if you know of a wildlife carer dealing with bushfire victims who may be in need of assistance, please help get the word out by letting them know about this grant system. Carers can be helped through the application process by phoning the Foundation of National Parks on (freecall) 1800 898 626. Questions can also be directed by e-mail to wildlifeheroes@fnpw.org.au
