Animals Australia is proud to support the recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Australian Constitution through The Voice to Parliament.
We believe in a world where kindness, compassion, and respect are shown to all living beings.
As advocates for animals, we understand the power of a voice and the importance of speaking up for those without fair representation. A voice can shine a light and illuminate a pathway to compassion and justice.
We acknowledge that The Voice to Parliament is just one step toward a fair and just Australia for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, but it is a crucial step. It is high time for constitutional recognition of First Nations people. We also express our support for the Uluru Statement from the Heart, including a Treaty and the Truth Telling process.
By supporting the Voice Referendum, we acknowledge the unique connection Indigenous Australians have with the land, its ecosystems, and its inhabitants. We value their perspectives, knowledge systems, and values, which offer invaluable insights for responsible stewardship of the lands for people and animals.
At Animals Australia, we lead with our hearts. We understand our individual power to impact on another’s well-being, growth, and evolution. We recognise we must bring the best version of ourselves to all decisions, including The Voice to Parliament referendum.
This is why Animals Australia supports a Voice to Parliament for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
