Ever wondered whether one person (or one meal) can make a difference? How’s this: by loading their plates with more animal-friendly food in May 2025, participants spared the lives of an estimated 1.3 million animals.

And the impact doesn’t end there.

For many 2025 participants, the change didn’t end after May. They continued reducing or leaving animal products behind, choosing to embrace a more compassionate way of eating. With No Meat May already creating meaningful, lasting change for animals, Animals Australia is proud to be a partner — and we’d love you to be part of it.

COUNT ME IN

Here are four examples of how many animals could be spared over the coming decades because of these No Meat May participants…

By taking pigs off their plate for good, No Meat May 2025 participants would spare hundreds of thousands of pigs from seeing the inside of factory farms and slaughterhouses. With every plant-based meal, you can be part of this kindness revolution for pigs.

20,743,068 chickens spared from short, painful lives

Yes, that is over 20 million chickens who could be spared from becoming prisoners in their unnaturally large bodies —victims of profit-driven selective breeding over generations. If 43,534 No Meat May participants could have this much of an impact, imagine what even more people joining in 2026 could help achieve for chickens!

112,075 cows spared from painful procedures and slaughterhouses

That’s thousands of sensitive individuals who could avoid being forced to suffer through the excruciating pain of ‘dehorning‘ and castration, being confined in filthy feedlots or spending their final moments in terror inside a slaughterhouse — because thousands of kind individuals switched ‘beef’ for plant-based alternatives.

219,905,766 fish and other sea animals spared from suffering

Whether finned or shelled, marine animals have something critical in common with every land animal: they feel pain and they resist death with all their might. Yet they suffer in unfathomable numbers as they’re targeted in the wild, trapped as ‘bycatch‘, or farmed in underwater factory farms. Join thousands of people leaving sea animals in the sea where they belong this May.
